In the 5 years he worked at the firm, Luke worked extensively on highly complex catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases that resulted in recoveries for injury and death victims totaling over $100 Million.
Luke’s extensive experience as a young lawyer taught him to properly identify, document and build complex injury cases in order to achieve the best results for his clients.
With that experience in hand, Luke founded his own law firm, Whitworth Law Office. Luke provided aggressive, attentive representation to personal injury victims. Luke’s practice grew at a rapid pace and was soon time for expansion.
In August 2019, Luke joined forces with his lifelong best friend, James Stigall and formed Stigall Whitworth. Together, they rapidly grew the practice and in 2024, Luke and James partnered with Jarrett Leiker to form SWL Personal Injury Lawyers.

A Missouri native, Luke was born in the Kansas City area where he attended Blue Springs High School. He attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City for both his undergraduate and law degrees.
Growing up in the Kansas City area, Luke had the benefit of watching his father practice law. Luke’s father, Hon. Matt J. Whitworth (1958-2019), had a storied career as a high ranking Federal Prosecutor and Federal Judge, including serving as the U.S. Attorney, then as the Chief Magistrate Judge, both for the Western District of Missouri.
Luke’s older brother, Justin Whitworth, and a younger brother, Clayton Whitworth, are both lawyers in Kansas City. Clayton is a Jackson County Prosecutor and Justin serves as In-House Counsel for a global company. Additionally, Luke has an Uncle and a Cousin who both practice law in Missouri, Kansas, and beyond.
In his free time, Luke enjoys spending time outdoors with his family. Luke has two beautiful children. Luke is an avid supporter and visitor to U.S. National Parks. Luke enjoys hiking, camping, mountain and gravel biking, hunting, fishing, and playing with his two Labradors, Louie and Remi.
