Jacob Leamon is a law clerk at SWL Injury Lawyers. Jacob grew up in Oak Grove, Missouri, where he developed an interest in the law at an early age. While still in high school, he pursued an internship with a local law firm, where his hands-on experience sparked a strong interest in personal injury litigation and helped him develop into a creative and analytical problem solver. Jacob takes pride in helping people resolve disputes and is committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for clients.

Jacob earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from the University of Missouri–Kansas City’s Bloch School of Management. During his time at UMKC, he was a member of the undergraduate mock trial team, where he began sharpening his trial advocacy skills. After graduating, Jacob worked as a Judicial Administrative Assistant for a Judge in the 16th Circuit Court of Jackson County, Missouri. This role further strengthened his interest in the law and his desire to advocate for clients both in and out of the courtroom.

Jacob is currently attending the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law, where he is expected to graduate in 2026 in the top 15% of his class with an emphasis in Trial Advocacy. While in law school, he has completed litigation-focused externships with the Appellate Public Defender’s Office and the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office. He also worked for over a year as a law clerk at a Kansas City civil litigation firm, gaining valuable experience in legal research and writing, motion practice, and trial advocacy.

Throughout law school, Jacob has excelled academically, particularly in areas such as advocacy and evidence. He further refined these skills as a member of the law school’s mock trial team, competing in tournaments across the country. Jacob also served as a Research Editor for Volume 94 of the UMKC Law Review and held leadership roles with the Board of Barristers and the student chapter of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys.

Outside of work and school, Jacob enjoys playing soccer, spending time outdoors, and being with friends.
